I’m writing this on behalf of my wife—the incredible mother of our three beautiful children.
Eight years ago, we began a journey that would change our lives forever. We became foster parents to three little kids who needed love, stability, and a place to feel safe. After three of the most challenging and emotional years of our lives, we were blessed to officially adopt them and become a forever family.
What my wife has given to make that possible is beyond words. She has sacrificed so much of herself—for our children and for me. She pours her heart into our family every single day. And while we love our kids more than anything, the truth is, this journey hasn’t been easy. Raising children who carry past trauma takes patience, strength, and an incredible amount of love.
My wife never backs down from that challenge. She never gives up. Even on the hardest days, when things feel overwhelming, she continues to show up with kindness, compassion, and unwavering strength. She puts everyone else’s needs before her own, often setting aside her own happiness just to make sure our kids feel safe, loved, and cared for.
She is the heart of our family.
She deserves to be reminded every single day how appreciated she truly is. And while I know we don’t always say it or show it enough, I hope she knows how deeply loved and admired she is—not just by me, but by the three lives she has changed forever.
Even if this never goes beyond a few readers, I just want the world to know: she is an amazing woman, an incredible mother, and the reason our family is what it is today.

Leila writes: My tattoo is a lyric from Noah Kahan’s song “Call your mom”. In this song he talks about the outside perspective of a mental health battle and how it affects people. I have the line “give yourself a reason” with the  “i” in give a semi colon to show my own battle with mental health. This tattoo shows me a reminder about how far I have come.
