It's Group Therapy Thursday time!
Dear Ted and Amy,
I’m a single guy in my early 40’s. Dating at this age is interesting to say the least. But I recently met a woman online who really seems to be what I’m looking for. She has a grown daughter, a good job, she’s beautiful and we have a lot of fun together. We’ve spent quite a bit of time together this past month and I was seeing a future with her. Then an issue came up. She's not really into talking about current events at all and she mentioned that she has never voted in her life. She thinks the process is broken and her vote doesn’t matter. This really got me. First, I’m a Veteran and I take it very seriously that we have the right to vote. She said “That’s cool. I respect how you feel about it, but we don’t have to agree on everything”. I agree but I’m starting to feel like this is something I can’t overlook. My family and friends have said that I need to be less picky - this woman is great, so I shouldn’t let this one thing ruin in. Am I wrong to feel so passionate about this?
Signed,
