Dear Ted and Amy,

We are holding a garage sale soon. We have a lot of toys and other stuff that we plan to sell that my kids have gotten as Christmas and birthday presents. My wife is insisting on us keeping a separate “kitty” so that any money we make on anything that is theirs, they will get it. I say it should all go into the same fund and we will spend it on the whole family as we do the rest of our money. She doesn’t think that’s right since it’s theirs in the first place and they should spend it the way they want to. Is she the crazy one or am I?
