It's Group Therapy Thursday Day!

Dear Ted and Amy,
How long is too long to wait to tell someone you’ve lied to them? When I first started dating my girlfriend a couple of years ago, on one of our first dates, she offered to make me dinner and asked what my favorite dessert was. I kind of panicked and just blurted out the first thing that came to me – cheesecake! So she served me cheesecake that night – one that she made from scratch! - and even though I wasn’t really a big fan, I thought it was very sweet that she actually put in so much effort so I acted like it was the best thing in the world. Fast forward to now and now for every special occasion – guess what she makes for me? Cheesecake! I’ve kind of grown to hate it and to feel really guilty because making a cheesecake is not easy and she always goes out of her way to take the time to make her own recipe because “I love it so much”. I’m not sure if she’ll think it’s funny if I tell her, or if her feelings will be really hurt that I’ve lied to her and made her do so much work for a dessert I don’t even like over the past two years. At this point, is it better to just keep eating cheesecake forever?
