Hailing from the Philippines and brought up in California, Guzman started out as a music teacher, which he quickly learned meant teaching Taylor Swift songs to teenagers. His performances have spanned the globe, as he has performed for Stand-Up Tokyo and ROR Comedy in Japan, the Jokers Ball in Indonesia, the Badaboom Comedy Series in Amsterdam, and countless other international shows. Blending music and comedy, JR serenades the audience with both songs and hilarious stories. He won 2016 Stand-up NBC, was named the prestigious title of “New Face” at Just for Laughs 2017, and now has a quarter hour special on Netflix’s “The Comedy Lineup.” He has also been featured on Comedy Central’s Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City. This is his debut album, which debuted #1 on iTunes and Billboard.
This album will make your grandparents less racist and your grandkids more racist. Wait, that can’t be right. Can someone fix that? No? Anyway, listen to the album and see for yourself!
