Emily Bauer of the Buffalo Chapter of Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America, a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. We also work in our own communities and with business leaders to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership. We know that gun violence is preventable, and we’re committed to doing what it takes to keep families safe.

Christa Penner joins the show to discuss the upcoming Elmwood Block Party on May 11. This is a community event to support local businesses in the Elmwood neighborhood. It will be a boutique crawl with participants having the opportunity to enter to win one of three prize packages that include gift certificates from each participating business. We're joined by Jerrod and Estelle Kester of Whirlwind Veterans and Warrior Retreat in Eden. The organization is a resiliency agricultural program established by veterans and for veterans of all military branches. We can no longer turn a blind eye to the alarming rates of veteran suicide, depression, divorce, homelessness, and substance abuse. By providing resources through farming, raising animals, fishing, trails, gardening, horseback riding, beekeeping, and fostering master resiliency techniques we seek to provide veterans and their families with the tools necessary to live their best life!
