Wildlife selfies have become such a large part of popular and Instagram culture that many people are unaware that there is anything wrong with wild animal interactions. The global tourism industry is under increasing pressure to regulate wild animal interactions, as it is not in the best interest of the animals and there have been a number of instances of tourists being killed. Often good intentions are the result of ignorance and a lack of education. Legitimate wildlife conservation projects or animal sanctuaries do not offer any interactions with wildlife, instead they support responsible tourism practices, whereby animals can be seen from a distance, in the wild and in their natural habitat.
On the Early Breakfast Show Relebogile spoke to travel blogger Iga Motylska about how people can practice responsible wildlife tourism.
