Melbourne Storm star Ryan Papenhuyzen has walked away from the final year of his contract. The Clive Churchill Medal winner has stepped away from the NRL to consider his playing future. Papenhuyzen is one of the prime targets for rebel rugby series R-360.

Aussie legend Merv Hughes has urged Test selectors to stick with Sam Konstas for the Ashes, despite his struggles in the Sheffield Shield. The opening game of the T20 series between Australia and India in Canberra on Wednesday night was washed out. India charged to 1 for 97 before the rain arrived. 

The Diamonds reclaimed netball's Constellation Cup with a dramatic win over the Silver Ferns in Christchurch. New Zealand won the fourth Test 62-57 to level the series at 2-all. For the first time, the series was decided with a period of extra time, Australia winning 12-11.
