The Victorian Government has announced fare increases for public transport effective next year, with commuters facing up to $104 in additional annual costs. Two-hour Myki passes in zones one and two will rise from $5.50 to $5.70, daily passes from $11 to $11.40, and seven-day passes from $55 to $57. The government is offering free weekend travel until February, plus free travel on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, to offset the increases.
