7News Just InTimes Square gets double ball drop for New Year's Eve
Times Square will feature two ball drops this New Year's Eve instead of the traditional single drop. The iconic Constellation Ball will drop at midnight, then drop again at four minutes past twelve in a red, blue and white design to commemorate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, accompanied by 900 kilograms of confetti. Around one million people are expected to attend the celebration with thousands of police providing security, and snow is forecast for the evening.
