One of Australia's oldest schools celebrated

Hundreds of families in south-west Sydney have gathered to mark an incredible local milestone. Camden Public School is officially one of the oldest schools in the country, opening in 1849. Students of all ages reunite at a party to look back at its remarkable history.

At this Camden fate, a feast of fun, stands of sweets, all smiles and as locals admired pieces of Modering history, they celebrated one major milestone. Camden Public School has turned one hundred and seventy five.

I love that my kids have come here, my mum's come here as well as my grandma.

Well, it's been a fantastic celebration. It's been a lot of work on part of our staff to get everything.

We've had a lot of big important people. People from Parliament have sent us messages congratulating us on launch in seventy fifth and obviously we've had our big assembly down there.

A chance to reflect and remember, a nostalgia for so many. That's funny, true, yea room, even if some memories aren't quite the fond ones.

Man Camden Public School has seen it all from world wars to natural disasters and throw it all. School spirit has stood the test of time.

It's a really nice school. There's really nice teachers. I like billing, assessments and going to lunch. Our community they're always really ready to help our school whenever it's needed.
