New Medicare data reveals 1,200 GP clinics across Australia have transitioned to fully bulk billing models following expanded federal government incentives, bringing the national total to 3,200 fully bulk-billing practices. While this represents nearly half of all GP clinics now offering 100% bulk billing, many Australians still face out-of-pocket costs of up to $50 for GP visits. Doctors warn that without increased Medicare rebates for longer consultations, these costs will continue to rise.
