7News Just InHeroes die stopping Bondi Beach massacre
A terrorist attack at Bondi Beach resulted in 15 deaths when gunman Sajid Akram opened fire on civilians and police officers. An elderly couple, Boris and Sophia Gurman, were killed after heroically wrestling a gun away from the attacker before he could begin shooting. The attack, believed to be inspired by Islamic State, also left 25 people hospitalised including two police officers who confronted the gunman.
