Two Floreat parents have been sent to prison after being found guilty in the high-profile starvation trial that's gripped Perth. The couple claim they only saw their malnourished daughter as their 'beautiful ballerina'. It took the jury just four hours to reach a verdict after a five-week trial described as harrowing, distressing, and difficult.

It didn't work in the end, the jury sided with the girl's dance teachers, doctors and other medical staff, who described the twenty seven kilogram almost seventeen year old as skin and bones, the size of a nine year old and at imminent risk of a heart attack.
