A terrorist attack at Bondi Beach has claimed 15 lives, with nine victims now identified including 10-year-old Matilda, rabbis, a Holocaust survivor, and community volunteers. The 24-year-old gunman Naveed Akram and his father Sajid had been known to ASIO since 2019 and recently travelled to the Philippines before the attack. National Cabinet has responded with immediate gun law reforms and accelerated implementation of a national firearms register, while heightened security measures are being implemented at major events including the upcoming Ashes test.
