ACCC targets supermarket pricing and online practices

View descriptionShare
The ACCC has announced its 2026 priorities, focusing on supermarket price gouging and fake discounts, with Coles and Woolworths already facing court action for allegedly misleading customers. The watchdog will scrutinise pricing practices across retail, electricity, gas, telcos and airfares, while targeting manipulative practices by online marketplaces including Temu and Shein. Product safety for children's items will also be examined, following City Beach's $14 million fine for non-compliant button battery products.
