The fight for higher wages in the public sector continues, particularly for nurses and midwives.

Australian Nursing Federation Secretary WA Janet Reah said some of them are holding a stop-work rally at 2pm at Fiona Stanley Hospital today.

"We're expecting hundreds of nurses today at the rally, it's the first in a series of rallies leading up to a mass meeting of nurses on the 12th of October," she told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.

She says they are fighting for better nurse to patient ratios and a better wage offer from the state government to help attract more nurses to WA.
