Psychologist breaks down Nick Kygrio's personality post Wimbledon meltdown

View descriptionShare

Nick Kyrgios’ controversial run-in with rival Stefanos Tsitsipas and the chair umpire during his blockbuster Wimbledon third round clash has made news around the world.

Jeffrey Bond, Sports Psychologist told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings that he does not see Nick improving his behaviour because he doesn't see a problem with it.

"It's his style, it's his brand if you like. He has now branded himself as the 'tennis disrupt-er.' It's a term I like to use for people who disrupt the status quo and in a positive sense in some cases advance things,' he told Gary.

"Most people like things the way they are. Of course if that prevailed until the nth degree we'd still be living in a cave and lighting timber fires. But we don't, because people have disrupted that status quo."

Mr Bond highlighted to listeners that the problem with 'disrupters' is the point where they push things too far.

"Kyrgios treads a very, very fine tight rope when it comes to that."
