A Sydney Morning Herald poll has revealed that the current dysfunction surrounding the Royal Family could be the cause pushing more Australians to support the country becoming a republic. 

Some voters say Prince Harry's recent revelations have turned them off the idea of Australia being tied to the monarchy. 

Sandy Biars Australian Republic Movement National Director says it's concerning that Australia's constitutional system is based on the Royal Family's current rocky foundation. 

"We have an opportunity now to have a national conversation over the coming years about why we should become a republic - it's an important time in the debate," Mr Biars told Gary Adshead.
