Mayor Shane Van Styn, City of Greater Geraldton Mayor, has said that the move to ban specific alcohol in Geraldton had no impact on controlling violence in the community.

Last Thursday, Geraldton police walked into a local bottle shop and banned cask sales for four days. 

As of midnight last night, a ban has been lifted on the cask wine. Shane Van Styn told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that the decision didn't make any sense.
