A Boyup Brook man has been considered lucky to keep his eyesight after he managed to lodge a nail in his eyeball doing home renovations.

Stefan Giersberg was not wearing his safety glasses when he was using a nail gun to attach a frame to a window. 

The 35mm brad nail ricocheted off the metal frame before hitting him in the eyeball and becoming stuck in his eye.
