EDITORIAL: I want to ask why the state government has done a secret deal to settle a long-running legal dispute with the builders of the Perth Children's Hospital, John Holland.

The Chinese-owned construction company decided to sue the government for $300 million  over contractual issues, you might remember that lead-in-the-water debacle, before the hospital even opened.

You might also even recall what the premier thought of the company, and how he was determined to fight them all the way.

Now in 2017 the Premier said JH had "not behaved well" in relation to this hospital.

"Whatever the construction company said, shouldn't be taken too seriously."
