Pia Whipps, the mother to Evie Whipps, noticed that something didn't look right with her 10-year-old daughter when her eyes continued to flicker throughout the day. 

After sending Evie to multiple doctors, the family was told that nothing was wrong however Pia pushed for an MRI. 

Just one week later when Evie was sent for an MRI, they were confronted with the heartbreaking news that her scan showed a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a highly-aggressive and difficult-to-treat brain tumour found at the base of the brain.

"It just blows me away that a 10-year-old girl who was displaying neurological conditions... it was amazing to me that no one wanted to check," Ms Whipps told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings.
