More shark sightings have closed beach after beach in Perth, with two more popular beaches closed on Sunday.

At least 88 sharks have been spotted between Jurien Bay and Esperance in the past week, with a 4m great white sighted 500m offshore near Michaelmas Reef in Albany on Thursday.

Dr Leonardo Guida, Shark scientist from the Australian Marine Conservation Society, told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast that about 1 in 7 sharks in Australia are currently threatened with extinction.

"The great thing is that with the WA Government's use of drones and tagging of sharks, we are seeing them more often but it doesn't mean there is more sharks," Dr Guida said.
