The US National Park Service has taken to social media urging people not to lick toads.
The Sonoran desert toad, one of the largest toads in America, secretes a toxin which can cause a hallucinogenic effect.
US correspondent Charles Feldman told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfaast there were two reasons not to lick toads.
"One, the venom can actually kill you, and two, the toad doesn't really like it," he joked with Parker.
