A person claiming to have hacked the private information of Optus customers says the data has now been deleted from the dark web and apologised for the leak.

EFTM and 6PR tech guru Trevor Long broke the news on Breakfast that he had viewed the stolen data online again today and noticed more personal information had been stolen from customers.     

"I've actually seen the data and today ... I've found Medicare numbers in there as well ... it's the worst of the worst in terms of data that could be leak, so we should be careful not to assume the millions of other data is not still out there," he told 6PR.
