Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association federal secretary Steve Purvinas said air travellers, including FIFO workers, are being told to brace for more flight cancellations in coming weeks as the engineers strike over industrial pay.

"We're seeking a 12 per cent pay rise, which accounts for the four years we haven't had a pay rise... it was due four years ago," he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.
