St John's Ambulance CEO Michelle Fyfe has stepped down following months of scrutiny.

Her decision comes after record ambulance ramping and a surge in COVID-19 cases contributed to delays amid extremely high demand, with at least two deaths linked to issues with the service in less than a month. 

United Workers Union National Ambulance Coordinator Fiona Scanlon told 6PR Breakfast it "welcomed the opportunity for ambulance services in WA to be put on the right track".
