Convicted drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury, otherwise known as 'Cocaine Cassie,' has made a shocking career move as she has been announced as one of the contestants on SAS Australia.

Showbiz guru Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl the blowback by the public is nothing unusual for the show.

"That's the nature of the programme, most of these people do have a scandalous past," Peter Ford said on 6PR Breakfast.

"I understand why people go on the show - I mean it's pretty gruelling."
