BGC Housing Group has stopped making new sales from its core Commodore Homes residential building brand while demand exceeds supply.

The WA building giant's move to halt sales from its 25-year residential housing company is a bid to keep up with high demand amid a challenging market.

The news was first relayed on 6PR Breakfast's Rumour File this week by Bob the Builder, with confirmation on Friday building sales would stop amid the tight market.
