The reign of King Charles III will likely be typified by his humorous nature as much as his dedication to service but a more pressing issue awaits Australia's new head of state.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford predicted a bomb will soon drop on Buckingham Palace if the memoirs of the King's son, Harry, are published any time soon.

Ford said pictures of Harry and wife Meghan, who now live in the United States, together with his brother William and wife Catherine after the passing of the Queen did not indicate wounds from their fractured relationship had been healed. 

"For all this talk of reconciliation, I think it might be a little bit more of a truce than anything because things are going to get ugly again," he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.
