Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Jessica Lingard has told 6PR Breakfast the smoke haze over Perth will linger for another couple of hours on Tuesday and hopefully clear for good by Thursday.

She told Gareth Parker the blanket cover would likely return tomorrow morning, but not be as smoky as today.

"Less likely from Thursday morning onwards, but there could still be a bit of a smoky smell around tomorrow," Ms Lingard said.
