A man has died after an e-scooter and a bike collided in Perth’s southern suburbs early Wednesday morning.

The tragedy occurred along Yale Road near the intersection of Nicholson Road in Thornlie, about 2.27am, with a man in his 40s rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital fighting for his life.

Deputy Police Commissioner Col Blanch, in his regular Wednesday morning segment on 6PR Breakfast, told host Gareth Parker that the man had since died and e-scooters were not a safer mode of travel than other moving vehicle.
