An overhaul of WA's Tenancy Laws could be on its way with Consumer Protection's proposed reforms being considered by the state government.

If passed, landlords would need a valid reason to evict established tenants, such as failing to pay rent.  

Pets would also be allowed in rentals by default. 

Real Estate Institute of WA President Damien Collins is concerned the changes could harm the market.
