Mandurah Cricket Club player, Brendan 'Ned' Ingle, is hoping to set a world record for longest run to start a game of cricket as park of the club's centenary celebrations this Saturday.

The current record is 7.17 kilometres held by Matthew Hunt from Bath, England.

Brendan told 6PR Breakfast he is also trying to raise money for the Australian Alzheimers Research Foundation.
