Veteran Eagles spearhead Josh Kennedy has announced he will hang up the boots on his glittering career after his 293rd game on Sunday against Adelaide at Optus Stadium.

The 34-year-old retires as West Coast's greatest ever goalkciker (he's currently on 715), and a list of accolades longer than most in the AFL, including:
three-time All-Australian
seven-time club leading goalkicker
dual Coleman Medallist

Kennedy ranks among the truly elite key forwards in the AFL after debuting for West Coast in 2008, arriving from Carlton as part of the Chris Judd trade.

He told Gareth Parker in his regular Tuesday morning segment on 6PR Breakfast, it was time to go and he wanted to let 6PR listeners know first.

"I will be retiring this year and this will be my last game of AFL footy this weekend with the mighty West Coast Eagles, finishing off in front of our home fans," he said.
