Footy fans at Optus Stadium will be restricted to eating and drinking in their seats only under new changes to COVID-19 restrictions.

Venue CEO Mike McKenna said staff would also undertake vaccination checks at stadium gates ahead of its first AFL fixture next Sunday afternoon between West Coast and Gold Coast.
