Popular Today show host Ally Langdon has farewelled colleagues and the audience on Friday to take on her new role on A Current Affair.

Tracy Grimshaw's replacement on ACA was a perfect foil for quirky co-host Karl Stefanovic.

"She won't be gone or that long ... she'll be back on A Current Affair as of the end of January... her and Karl were a really good team, but this is a really good opportunity," Ford told Breakfast hosts Millsy & Karl.
