Investigators are piecing together how more than $120 million of cocaine got into WA and where it was going.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast a joint operation between the AFP, WA Police, intelligence authorities and Australian Border Force seized the haul in a campervan in Port Hedland, after investigating an alleged organised crime syndicate, which may have sailed the drugs to WA aboard an international bulk shipping carrier.

"So far we know there's a German national involved, and also a man from NSW," he told Breakfast.
