6PR Breakfast listeners began contacting the program in the wee hours on Tuesday morning with reports of seeing a line of lights in the sky, travelling slowly all over the metro area this morning.

Caller Tim, from Willagee told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast the lights were Elon Musk's Starlink satellite, which travels around the Earth for his internet service provider.

"There's about 10 of them and every week you can see them, depending on the light," he said.

Matt Woods from the Perth Observatory confirmed to Parker that 46 of the satellites were launched on Monday, with more than 2000 from Musk's SpaceX company already in orbit.
