U-S Brigadier General Pat Ryder says Russian efforts to bring in more forces won't happen rapidly.
Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly spoke on the situation in Ukraine on Thursday. She says the world must not legitimize referendums Russia plans to hold in parts of Ukraine it has occupied.
Four regions of Ukraine have issued notices that they may hold votes on whether to join the Russian Federation. Joly said Russia could use these votes as a premise to claim that Ukraine was the aggressor.
