The Ford government is looking to expand Ontario’s pharmacist prescription powers – again. In an effort to relieve more pressure off of the province’s family doctors, they are looking to tack on an additional 14 health issues that pharmacists can cover, with that ever-growing list currently standing at 19 ailments. Premier Ford is consulting with healthcare associations to implement these changes, which could also expand the authorities of optometrists, psychologists, and physiotherapists.
