This week, the idea of an infrastructure levy was being pitched by City Staff, as the municipality examines a backlog of items that need repairs. From roads and parks, to arenas and pools, a lot of elbow grease and TLC is needed. And in the past, Ottawa hasn’t spent enough to maintain those municipal assets properly, as evidenced by an annual $1.2 billion shortfall. General Burns Pool – located in Sean Devine’s Knoxdale-Merivale Ward – is one piece of infrastructure that’s currently hanging by a thread.
