Bruyere Health is laying off 55 frontline health workers, according to the Canadian Union of Public Employees. It says the cuts will include 46 personal support workers and 9 nurses. Back in October, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer projected a reduction in 9,000 nursing and PSW positions by 2027-2028, which are largely based around the Ford government’s spending plan.
