Skaters are on the edge of their seats waiting for word from the NCC as to when they can get out on the Rideau Canal Skateway for the first time this season. 

Bruce Devine, senior manager of facilities and programs at the National Capital Commission tells Patricia Boal they're working up to the 30cms of thickness needed for skaters to be on the ice but there's no date as of now for when they will have it open.
