As we gear up for another Fall Session at Parliament Hill, with a weaker Liberal minority holding onto power, community organizations across the country are hosting a series of rallies to bring attention to migration issues. Among other things, they want to see the federal government grant equal rights and permanent resident status for these migrants. Andrew Pinsent goes 1-on-1 with Karen Cocq, the Projects and Campaigns Coordinator of the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change. Meantime, a brand-new documentary on Russian soldiers was generating plenty of controversy ahead of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. And now, TVO has pulled its support of the film.
