We discuss the conditions migrant workers are facing on Canadian farms during the COVID-19 pandemic, and what needs to change. We speak with Tracey Ramsey, the former NDP MP for Essex, about the pressure migrant workers are allegedly facing to sign away their movement rights. We also chat with Kareem Chehayeb, a journalist and researcher at the Beirut-based media organization, about the situation on-the-ground after the explosion. Then, we discuss the proposed bylaw in Niagara-on-the-Lake which could ban late-night ‘hooting, hollering, whistling and singing’ after 9 o’clock.
