Hour 1 of CFRA Weekends for Sat. April 11th, 2026

View descriptionShare

Ottawa’s Downtown Revitalization Framework is highlighting a slew of key issues that exist and persist within the Downtown economy. The Finance and Corporate Services Committee opened that can of worms earlier this week, arguing that the municipality can sometimes be over-reliant on the federal government for support. Andrew Pinsent chats with Mary Rowe, the President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute. Meantime, ByWard Market businesses have teamed up to create a ‘Nashville-style’ festival, an early-April attempt to entice more foot traffic into the Downtown Core. And the musical fun starts today! Joining the show with a quick preview are Alex Sirois and Jonah Trevor-Deutsch, the organizers of ‘Maple and Moonshine’. Then, we check in with Jenn Grant, who is one of PEI's most talented songwriters. She is playing a show this coming Thursday at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. And finally, the Ottawa Senators can clinch a playoff spot with another win and some out-of-town scoreboard assistance.
