Dimpho’s personal philosophy is, “Punch above your weight and do it scared – be fearless and continue to expand your comfort zone by doing more things you are afraid of.” She grew up in Limpopo but is now between South Africa and Southeast Asia. She completed her Bachelor of Social Sience in Philosophy & Politics in 2020 with UCT, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management in 2024 with Stellenbosch University. Dimpho’s achievements include doing a TED Talk at the age of 21, winning the P&G CEO challenge in the same year, working for UCT Radio for 3 years, founding GoShareSA and her podcast, The Bookish Podcast, on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. But what has been huge for her journey is that she hasn’t been afraid to try new things. She considers quality time spent with Fellows, their insights and willingness to help as the highlight of attending Association events. She reciprocates this to ensure that the community is creating viable businesses that produce meaningful employment. Her business is called 1982 Brewing Co. (https://lnkd.in/g6FyAAEt). They use technology to manufacture brewing equipment, craft beer and craft cider. They have 60+ tested craft recipes of cider and beer combined, with 7 being award winning. One of her goals is that 1982 and its subsidiaries would own 25% of the market share in.
