Sanele Andile Mabaso is a third-year law student at the University of Johannesburg, recognised for his consistent pursuit of excellence both academically and beyond. In 2024, he earned distinction as a UJenius Top 1% student, adding to his earlier achievement of receiving a DUX award at Stanger M.L. Sultan Secondary School, where he ranked first overall. For Sanele, excellence represents a personal standard rather than a milestone.

Deeply committed to leadership and youth development, he founded MENgage UJ: The Men’s Society at UJ, an initiative dedicated to promoting positive masculinity, addressing gender-based violence, and cultivating responsible leadership among young men. He actively participates in various university structures, including the Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter (UJ), the UJ Book Club, and the UJ Arts Academy, broadening his intellectual, creative, and social engagement.

In 2025, he competed in the Mr and Miss UJ APK pageant, using the platform to champion discipline, purpose-driven leadership, and personal growth. He previously placed as 1st Runner-Up in the Face of Richmond pageant, an experience that strengthened his confidence and public presence. Beyond academics and leadership, Sanele is also an actor and voice-over artist signed with a professional talent agency, using storytelling as a tool for influence and impact. Through mentorship and public speaking, particularly with high school learners, he continues to inspire young people to pursue excellence and lead with integrity.
